Podcast: Insider's Guide to Copenhagen - Beer, bathing and solo traveling

Foto: Mark Tanggaard

Join British journalist Laura Hall as she takes radio and television host Esben Bjerre for a stroll through some of her favourite Copenhagen spots and shares what makes Copenhagen special to her.

Laura Hall visited Copenhagen for the first time as a solo traveller. Later, she moved back and thought she would be here for two years. After six months, Laura and her husband looked at each other and decided the easy Copenhagen lifestyle was for them. She feels that Copenhagen is safe, notably for women travelling solo, and that Danes are kind and caring. And the weather? Laura has taken the Danish saying “There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing” to heart!

Join Laura as she shows Esben where she spends her time in Copenhagen and where she brings her international friends - by bike, of course!

The Carlsberg City District

The Carlsberg City District combines the new with the old and is a "new part of town" where many places have opened in the past few years - despite having some of the oldest buildings in Copenhagen, notably the Carlsberg Brewery. This brewing era has left behind a distinct fundament and exceptional heritage for the district to be built upon, handing the neighbourhood various presents in the form of historical buildings and industrial and scientific history.
